The Fund's investment team take into account various Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance and ethical issues throughout their research, analysis, selection and monitoring of investments. It also applies positive and negative screens to the Fund's investment universe.

Federation applies a negative screening approach, avoiding investments in certain activities including fossil fuel-based electricity generation, nuclear power, ports, airports, toll roads, gas pipelines, alcohol, tobacco, gaming, armaments, militarism, live animal exports, and non-sustainable forestry. Exceptions exist where investments contribute to renewable energy adoption or emission reduction. A materiality threshold of 20% revenue generation from negative screen activities is applied, allowing some flexibility in investment decisions.

Inclusions
Federation adopts a positive screening approach to responsible investing, focusing on sectors aligned with sustainability and societal impact. This includes investing in renewable energy generation and storage, sustainable infrastructure such as waste management and water treatment, as well as social infrastructure like healthcare and education facilities. Additionally, the manager considers property investments with significant environmental components and businesses involved in embedded networks and micro-grid infrastructure leveraging renewable energy. It may also explore other sectors deemed to have a positive societal impact, adhering to the commitment to responsible investing.

Federation Alternative Investments II (Retail)
Strategy Summary
The Fund's investment objective is to deliver significant capital growth over the medium to long-term primarily through investments across a range of private assets. The Fund targets companies with strong growth potential across the Asia-Pacific region and other jurisdictions as determined by the Investment Manager. Its primary investment focus is on direct and indirect equity investments, or such other investments if the Investment Manager foresees a pathway to equity. The sectors that the Fund Manager targets include clean power, education, healthcare, disability care, sectors servicing an ageing population, technology, and financials and fintech.
