Responsible Investing Approach
Pendal takes labour standards, environmental, social and ethical considerations into account, as well as key financial criteria when selecting, retaining or realising investments of the Fund. The sustainability criteria and exclusionary screens applied to the Fund's investments may exclude some companies from the investable pool of the Fund's portfolio. The Fund utilises exclusionary screens to avoid companies involved in industries or business activities that cause significant social and/or environmental harm. Pendal's sustainability assessment framework considers a company's characteristics, including the extent to which its products or services are beneficial to the environment and society, the manner in which it conducts its business and employs leading sustainability practices, and its management of its environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks. The Fund typically favours companies that demonstrate leading sustainability characteristics under this assessment framework and typically avoids those that rate poorly.

Inclusions
Pendal utilises its sustainability assessment framework for the Fund's investments, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative inputs to assess companies against sustainability criteria. The framework evaluates companies based on their products' environmental and social benefits, their business practices, and their management of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks. The Fund generally prefers companies with strong sustainability characteristics as determined by this assessment framework, while typically steering clear of those with poor ratings.

Pendal Sustainable Australian Share Fund
Strategy Summary
The Fund aims to outperform the S&P/ASX 200 (TR) Index (before fees, costs and taxes) over the medium to long term, whilst maximising the portfolio's focus on sustainability. The Fund uses a stock selection process that combines sustainable and ethical criteria with Pendal's financial analysis and it seeks out companies and industries that demonstrate leading ESG and ethical practices and excludes companies not meeting the investable criteria. The company research focuses on valuation, franchise, management quality and risk factors (both financial and non-financial risk) without being restricted by a growth or value bias.
