Responsible Investing Approach
Firetrail will apply environmental, social and ethical considerations when selecting, retaining or realising investments in the Fund in addition to other methods in assessing company value. Firetrail's primary methodology for assessing a company's ESG characteristics is fundamental analysis and judgement. Each company under consideration for the portfolio is assessed fundamentally by Firetrail to determine whether it currently meets, or is expected within a 5-year investment horizon to meet, one or more of Firetrail's proprietary sustainable investment themes, which have been grouped from the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Companies that do not meet at least one of Firetrail's sustainable investment themes, will not be included in the portfolio. Firetrail will exclude companies from the portfolio if the company or its subsidiaries derive any direct revenue from the production of tobacco and nicotine alternatives or the manufacture of nuclear and controversial weapons.
In terms of the extent to which the ESG standards and considerations are taken into account, Firetrail does not apply a set methodology and has no set approach to monitoring or reviewing these standards, it does not use a weighting system to apply a weight to the standards and considerations. Additionally, Firetrail does not have a set time for monitoring or reviewing investments. As such, Firetrail has no predetermined view about how far labour standards or environmental, social or ethical considerations are taken into account. Where Firetrail determines that an investment no longer meets one of its sustainable investment themes, such investment will be divested as soon as reasonably practicable.

Exclusions
Firetrail will exclude companies from the portfolio if the company or its subsidiaries derive any direct revenue from the production of tobacco and nicotine alternatives or the manufacture of nuclear and controversial weapons. If an existing investment is subsequently assessed as directly deriving any revenue from such activities, Firetrail will seek an orderly sale of that investment as soon as practicable. Revenue is determined based on audited consolidated financial statements of the company, where available.
